We had worked with Catalyst Group many times before, so we knew to expect a design that was clean, contemporary and built to a high standard.
Our scope covered removing the existing closed in offices to create an open plan, inclusive space, along with meeting and breakout rooms for privacy. Because the new layout included a larger communal area, we made adjustments to the HVAC and fire systems, added soundproofing and dampening, and upgraded the electrical and data facilities.
We also gave the space a cosmetic refresh with new paint, new flooring, and a range of dual purpose wall paneling.
As an important Crown entity, ACC needed to keep operating throughout the project, and the sensitive, private nature of their work had to be protected at all times. Our team planned around these requirements from the outset, working outside business hours wherever possible to keep disruption to a minimum. Because the building sits among other businesses in the Five Lanes precinct, we also had to think about our neighbours, scheduling noisy or messy work and material deliveries for quiet periods and leaving the site tidy at the end of each shift.
